Driving Guide

From Greymouth, and points North.
Follow State Highway 6 south toward Hokitika and Haast. Watch for the Shantytown turnoff at Paroa. Take this left turn. This road is Rutherglen Road. Follow the directions below for Rutherglen Road.

From Hokitika, and points South.
Take State Highway 6 north to Greymouth. At Kumara Junction, the major turn off point for Christchurch, be sure to follow the Greymouth sign! Watch for the Paroa Hotel sign and the Shantytown turnoff sign just North of Gladstone. Take the next right, from the right hand turning lane. This will put you on Rutherglen Road, follow the directions below.

Rutherglen Road
We are 8 kms up this road (four minutes past Shantytown.) Watch for a sharp S-bend (45kph), come down the steep little hill and our driveway is two on the left past the bottom of the hill.

There is a blue and white B&B sign pointing up our driveway, with the Chapel Hill sign at the entrance on your left. You won’t see Chapel Hill from the road – it’s up the driveway set in gardens and forest.

No Car? No Problem ...
